Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Karen Snyder and I've been a crafter for about as long as I can remember. I am a stay-at-home-Mama of two beautiful children with a husband who makes my dreams possible.

This blog is about all sorts of crafting. I am a paper-crafter from early days, a jewelry-maker with an unending obsession for chain maille. I make chain maille purses, many of which will be chronicled in this blog as their future owners await their completion. I love metalsmithing. I am an indifferent beader and don't get me anywhere near seed beads... they scatter, screaming to get away from me. I love to try new things, have a short attention span so if its a long-term project... I'm probably not doing it LOL.

If you have questions, ask. If you have tips, share. Same with suggestions - share! I want this to be a great forum for people to brainstorm and problem-solve with a good attitude. Crabby Apples need not respond, this is a feel-good kind of blog :)

Romanov Earrings in sterling silver with blue crystals.
Good morning and Happy Friday everyone!  Yes here's your daily question and chance to enter.  Just leave a comment on this post and answer this question:  When you were a kid and people asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up, what did you say?  From the time I was about 6, my answer was, "A Marine Biologist."

  8. I said I wanted to be a pediatrician because I love working with kids. I didn't actual go that route (blood makes me a little uneasy) but I do work with children. :) I am a teacher. And it's become a job that I love. Every day is a new challenge and I have so many wonderful memories.

  17. I wanted to be a ballerrina, right up until I was 16 and realised I wasn't good enough to dance solo at the Royal Ballet in Covent Garden. Now my 7 year old daughter wants to be a ballerina...or a soccer player!!!

  18. I always wanted to be a secretary, I ended up being a receptionist - so pretty close, and whenever I filled in for one of my bosses secretary, I hated it!! Too much pressure! I was much happier on reception, meeting and greeting people, answering phones, overflow typing etc - I was really good at it too, which made it more enjoyable! (Lisa White :o)

  19. Isn't it funny how we find that what we thought we'd like doesn't always go with who we really are Lisa? You are entered!

  20. As a child i wanted to be a background dancer on Top of the Pops.I adore dancing and from the moment i could walk i loved to dance, still do today. As i grew older my ambition was to become a childcarer, i loved looking after children. This i achieved proudly earning my level 3 NVQ in childcare and becoming the Pre-school Roomleader in a private day Nursery :-)

I think my son is a budding train spotter, he isnt fussed about going on them, but loves to watch them go past with his 'im going to explode with excitment' expression. Very cute !!
