So with the ribbon, the box and the tissuewrapped item inside, it's kind of like sweet torture :)

So glad you enjoyed opening your goodies - it was such fun to watch! Can't wait for next time!

I think Facebook is absolutely invaluable for people like me, who are basically shy (I know - hard to believe!!). When you don't have to face up to a complete stranger, it's much easier to share your thoughts and process. And with Facebook (unlike markets) they're not there out of some sense of duty, or accompanying a friend or suchlike - they're on your page because they WANT to be. I love that :)Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06796179079384831716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1392207539830667097.post-72582358882576304282011-02-13T19:15:57.553-08:002011-02-13T19:15:57.553-08:00Excellent article Karen. One thing you do that I just adore is the way that the whole opening experience is so lovely. Ribbon, opening the box, then unwrapping the piece inside really is a piece of magic.

It really is so much easier to just imagine that you are talking to a group of friends on Facebook - and I agree that often, that's exactly what we are doing.Karen Snyderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12654039597200431590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1392207539830667097.post-24775601691140295582011-02-13T18:32:48.786-08:002011-02-13T18:32:48.786-08:00Beautifully said, Karen. I wholeheartedly agree! ...Beautifully said, Karen. I wholeheartedly agree! I am not a born salesperson - but both my parents are, and I've learnt a thing or two off them over the years. The first thing I learnt is that people deserve to be treated well - like people, not like numbers. And they like to know who they're buying off. I just try to treat everyone the way I like to be treated. I'm lucky in that I find the online world far more appealing than the craft markets I used to attend! I can be much more "myself" online than when I am face to face with strangers! I just pretend I'm talking to friends when I'm on Facebook (and most of the time, that's exactly what I'm doing - whether I know it or not!). The other thing I try to do is provide the client with a one-off item of jewellery that is presented like a gift - wrapped beautifully, with a handwritten card that accompanies it. And spare business cards for them to hand around ;) One thing I've always strived to do is to provide clients with a service superior to what they receive in a store. And to refer to your "people buy from people" philosophy - when I used to work for a freighting company, the motto was "People, not planes, deliver". So true!

Looking forward to more of your wonderful tips and seeing what others can offer in the way of feedback too :) What a wonderful, giving person you are :)Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06796179079384831716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1392207539830667097.post-7065403954770556692011-02-13T18:27:09.195-08:002011-02-13T18:27:09.195-08:00This is a great beginning.
